Festival Premiere aims to promote “the dark side of cinema” with movie premieres in original language. The initiative has been made possible by the collaboration with Publimedia and Cinema City where previews of movies with a Nightmare vibe will be selected and screened.
Opening Night is the inauguration evening, the opening event of the Festival.
Participating films in the International Feature-Film Competition are original films, that are driven by “the dark side of cinema” intended in its broadest sense and capable of contributing to the stylistic and thematic renewal of cinema.
In collaboration with main national and international distributors, this section is closely connected to the newest releases presented in largest markets. Ravenna Nightmare exclusively presents films of rare beauty that are still little-known by Italian distribution.
The Festival’s traditional section, narrating History, Remembrance and Celebrations. Ravenna Nightmare has always felt the need to give a voice to the cinema of the past in the best possible way, through personal retrospectives and tributes.
Viewings and educational meetings dedicated to film-making aiming to promote the cinematographic experience among young audiences.
In collaboration with the A.S.C.I.G. – Association for Cultural Exchanges between Italy and Japan, treated by Marco Del Bene and Gabriele Scardovi, was born estAsia, the new section of the festival dedicated to Japanese and Asian cinema.
Off Screen consists of a series of events and meetings throughout the city of Ravenna that aim to further include the Festival into the socio-cultural fabric of our city.
