The formation course titled “Allenare lo sguardo: l’importanza della Film Literacy e di sapere scegliere il film in classe” will consist in a meeting on film and media literacy with a speaker of exception: the author, director and screenwriter Manlio Castagna, who will present his book “116 fiilm da vedere prima dei 16 anni” published by Mondadori. Manlio Castaga

 

He was born in Salerno in 1974 and made his directorial debut in 1997 with the award-winning short

“Frequency index”, with Alessandro Haber. For over twenty years he has been collaborating in organizing the Giffoni Film Festival and in 2007 he became deputy artistic director, a role he will hold until 2018. He made his debut in children's fiction with the bestselling saga Petrademone published by Mondadori. For the same publishing house, “La notte delle Malombre”, “The winds of evil”, “Alice stays at home”, written jointly with Marco Ponti and the film manual “116 films to see before the age of 16” are published.

 

With Guido Sgardoli he wrote the horror novel “Le Belve” (Piemme). For Emons, however, he published "Love wins everything" (series "The mysteries of mercury") and the original audio series: "The limbo diaries" from which the graphic novel of the same name published by DeAgostini was taken.

 

He is a screenwriter, director, neuromarketing expert.
