APE REGINA by Nicola Sorcinelli
Italy, 2019, 13’
Elsa is seventy years old and she has five empty hives. The bees are gone just like her husband, to whom she will never forgive the fact that he has died before her. Only a new queen bee, if accepted, could make the bees come back. One day she finds Amin, a young sixteen-year-old boy who has escaped an immigration center. The police is looking for him and he wants to reach Finland. Else decides to host him in exchange for help with her hives, until he has to leave.
