LAURA by Otto Preminger

The police inspector Mark McPherson has to investigate on the murder of Laura Hunt, a beautiful advertising director who has been found with her face disfigured in her own apartment. Thanks to the testimonies of her friends and by reading her letters and her diary, McPherson starts to get to know Laura and fall in love with her.
Otto Preminger, born Otto Ludwig Preminger (Vyžnycja, 5 december 1905 – New York, 23 april 1986), began his career as an actor in Germany with a great theatrical Max Reinhardt, debuting as a film director in 1931.
In 1934 he arrives in Hollywood, where he becomes one of the important genre films director, mostly noir and melodrama but also high-brow films such as Bonjour Tristesse. As an actor he is mostly famous for his role in Stalag 17, directed by Billy Wilder.
