Based on a true story, condensed into a single tweet by a high school girl, posted and gone viral on social media. A divorced father tries his hand every morning at the cooker to prepare the obento (lunchbox) for his high school daughter. The film offers a touching picture of the affection and new bonds between single fathers and their children.

Born in the United States but of Japanese citizenship, he trained with photographer, filmmaker and Art director Shindo Mitsuo, starting out making music videos. Since 2002, he has pursued an independent career making numerous clips for various bands such as One Ok Rock, Hiatus and Asian Kung-fu Generation. He made his feature film directorial debut in 2010 with Shōwa: My Little Town/Kai Band.
