Frank is the shy owner of a mannequin store. His life changes when young artist Anna appears asking for his help with her new exhibition. As their friendship develops and Frank's obsession escalates, it becomes clear that she has unleashed a dreadful long-repressed compulsion to stalk and kill. A 21st century Jack the Ripper, Maniac is the re-boot of the cult film by William Lustig (1980), considered by many to be the best slasher movie ever made.

Franck Ange Khalfoun (born 9 March 1968 in Paris, Ile-de-France) is a film director known for directing P2, Wrong Turn at Tahoe and the remake of Maniac.
