THE WELL

Lisa Gray, a young restorer, travels to a small Italian village to bring a medieval painting back to its former glory. She will put her life in danger because of a curse attached to the painting, and a monster, created and fed by the most extreme pain, imprisoned at the bottom of a well. Written by Zampaglione himself and Stefano Masi, the cast includes Claudia Gerini, Giovanni Lombardo Radice, Linda Zampaglione, Jonathan Dylan King, Lorenzo Renzi, Taylor Zaudtke, Gianluigi Calvani, and Yassine Fadel. As the director himself stated, the film pushes emotions to the extreme, blurring the line between reality and fantasy, life and death. The audience will thus discover that Evil has new depths.

Federico Zampaglione (Rome, 1968) is a singer-songwriter, director and screenwriter. A film enthusiast, Zampaglione began his career behind the camera with the comedy Nero bifamiliare. The Well marks his return to the horror genre. Shooting of the film took place in early 2023 between Sambuci (Tivoli) and Rome.
