In collaboration with Fice - Italian Film Federation, come Nightmare d'essai, a new section of the XVI edition of Ravenna Nightmare Fim Fest, dedicated to auteur cinema.
We wanted to get even closer to our audience by understanding the need that has been expended several times to build in our festival an event dedicated to the type of film where genre cinema converges in the art cinema or the auteur cinema uses the language of genre cinema to get beyond the mind, even in the heart and stomach of the viewer. What is a Nightmare d'Essai movie? It should be said that directors such as Nolan, Scott, Polanski, Sollima, Scorsese, Garrone, Lynch, Cronenberg, Egoyan, Salvatores have already answered this question, and there is a multitude of films and authors that fully fall within this horizon. It is with this spirit, therefore, that we approached the FICE, a repository of quality cinema, giving full availability to include in the official program of the Film Festival that after an important can have a second pass during the 16th edition in the Nightmare d'Essai section.
