CHIMERA
(India, EAU, USA, 2018/80')
Imagine a world without aging, injury, disease or death. Quint’s obsession with this utopian dream pushes him to the edge of his sanity.
Rather than risk losing his dying children, Quint decides to freeze them alive, thereby preserving them in a cryonic ametabolic state.
Meanwhile he feverishly researches genetic modifications that would give them the regenerative abilities of the “immortal” Turritopsis jellyfish.
Quint’s experiments require human embryonic stem cells and this sets him on a collision course with his Masterson, a shadowy figure, whose bizarre motives trigger a chain of events with far-reaching consequences.

Manipulated by a crook’s daughter with whom he falls hopelessly in love and wishing to save the orchestra at all costs, Alik decides to take on the identity of the killer known as “The Virtuoso” and attempt to carry out his contracts.

MOST BEAUTIFUL ISLAND
(USA, 2018/87') by Ana Asensio
Most Beautiful Island is a disenchanted and ironic title. Asensio, the director, underlines in the screenplay many of her fears and anxieties lived fand suffered firsthand when she was an immigrant in a not-so-welcoming country. In the film she turned them into a thriller following the protagonist in her attempts not only to survive, but also to escape to her own ghosts.
