Toine, Iris and their 9 year old son Jacco seek the hilly and picturesque south of The Netherlands for a weekend of quality time and relaxation. Toine - clearly the self-proclaimed head of the family - starts to behave erratically. His manners seem to look out of place in these idyllic surroundings. It won’t take long before his family will have enough of his behaviour.
Jan Verdijk (1987) graduated at the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2012 as a director/screenwriter. His graduation film ‘Encore’ got selected for the student competition at the Dutch Film Festival the same year. After graduation he worked as an assistant director on several film sets, but for the last years, he focusses completely on directing and writing his own (short) movies. In 2017 he and Kurt Platvoet wrote and directed a short film together, called A MAN FALLS FROM THE SKY. It got selected at over 20 filmfestivals and won various awards. In 2018 he directed his newest short film WILD and currently he is developing a middle length film (45 mins) and he started writing his first feature-length script.
