Yorgos Lanthimos was born in Greece. His sophomore film “Dogtooth” won the Un Certain Regard Prize at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language film. “The Lobster” won the Jury Prize at the 68th Cannes Film Festival and received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Original Screenplay. “The killing of a sacred deer” won Best Screenplay at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. “The Favourite” received a leading ten Academy Award® nominations in 2019.
