Agnese, a wolf biologist, returns home after a long hospitalization. It is difficult for her daughter Arianna, an introverted teenager who pours out her turmoil through dance, to rebuild her relationship with her mother. Riccardo, husband and father, tries hard to keep the family together. The moon has an occult power over Agnese: her mind begins to wander and her body transforms, while visions of the "god of the woods" invade reality.
Daniele Campea, born in 1982, is a director, screenwriter and composer. His short films, music videos and documentaries were shown in many festivals worldwide. His debut feature film Macbeth Neo Film Opera (2018) premiered at 63rd Taormina Film Festival and won the Opera Prima Award at Presente Italiano Festival.
He combines different and complementary artistic languages, such as cinema, opera and video art, in an all-encompassing vision named "Neo Film Opera". Mother Nocturna is his second feature film.
