Special event - In its 19th edition, we are honored to announce that the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest is delivering the Special Edition Gold Ring to Maestro Pupi Avati.
In 2019 we started a three-year project which, with the assignment of the "Gold Ring Special Edition" award (created by @ goldsmith Marco Gerbella), wanted to underline our esteem for those directors who, when measured with genre, they have brought it to levels of excellence.
The trilogy began in 2019 with the great director Liliana Cavani, and then continued in 2020 with the homage to cinema by Marco Bellocchio. It will close this year, in the 2021 edition, with an evening event in which we will assign the Golden Ring Special Edition to Maestro Pupi Avati which, at the end of the evening (coordinated by @Mariangela Sansone), will be presented in collaboration with the @Cineteca Nazionale di Roma the film “The house of laughing windows” (1976), which has become a true cult of the horror genre.

A mad painter commits suicide in a town in the Ferrara area, after having painted a terrible fresco, representing the martyrdom of San Sebastiano between two grinning figures. Those interested in the tourist development of the locality, considering the work of Buono Legnani an attraction, decide to restore the fresco and bring in the fellow citizen Stefano, a late painter. The young man is haunted by strange and disturbing facts, while his friend Mazza, before disappearing with a fake suicide, reveals a fantastic story of which he is unable to give him the details. Before discovering the truth and risking his own life, the restorer witnesses the death of the sexton Livio, the taxinaro drunkard Coppola, his lover Francesca, a teacher.
