The nineteenth edition of Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest comes to an end with its traditional awards ceremony, where the long-awaited prizes are finally awarded: the Golden Ring for the Best Feature Film and the Silver Ring for the Best Short Film Competition (both created by Marco Gerbella) are awarded on the basis of the audience's votes in person and on MyMovies. This year the public has decided that:
The Golden Ring for the Best Feature Film goes to The Alternate by Alrik Bursell
The Silver Ring and a prize of 1000 euros for the Best Short Film to Night Games by Henny Aman.
For the Feature Film Competition, the festival also awards the Critics Award to Best Director. The Festival is honored to be able to count on a jury composed by: Emanuela Martini, author and curator of essays, director of Torino Film Festival; Chiara Barzini, author and screenwriter; Viola Prestieri, film producer; Beatrice Fiorentino, journalist and film critic, general organiser at Settimana Internazionale della Critica; Andrea Chimento, professor at the Università Cattolica di Milano and journalist; Donato Sansone, author of animated short films; Steve Della Casa, film critic and artistic director of Roma Fiction Fest and BA Film Fest in Busto Arsizio.
The Critics Awards for the Best Director of a Feature Film goes to Post Mortem by Pèter Bergendy.
"The thing we have appreciated the most in Post Mortem is the fact that the genre film becomes a metaphor of great intelligence to talk about the historic and geographical context. We believe that horror has always been one of the genres that are able to let us reflect on big historic moment, but this happens rarely with a few films. Post Mortem is one of them and that was a beautiful surprise for us".
The artistic direction wants to thank the MyMovies platform that for the second year in a row has accompained the festival in a delicate moment of transition letting it have an online edition and crossing the city borders.
Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest thanks its audience and will be back in 2022 for the 20th edition of the festival dedicated to the dark side of cinema!
