Corti Da Sogni 2019 is starting tomorrow! Among the Festival initiatives, we are glad to announce that also this year the collaboration between Circolo Sogni and Ravenna Nightmare has been reconfirmed.
Wednesday 15 at 18:30 Teatro Rasi will be hosting Super 8 - Cinema lost dimension, that will see the participation of Ravenna Nightmare's Artistic Director Franco Calandrini. With the aid of two projectors, that today seem historic evidence but that still succeed in returning the magic of movies, extremely rare Super 8 film footage, including fragments of first historic moon landing.
Before blu-ray, dvd, VHS...there was Super 8! From 1965 to 1985, for almost 20 years, the only way to see a film a part from movie theatres or TVs was with the so-called "reduced format" Super 8. The passage of time and poor quality of the materials of that period permanently faded this historic footage and it's very rare today to find films maintaining beautiful original colours, so the only media you get are red and yellowed. But the charm, marvel, beauty of a film projection rapidly flowing in the projector remains a magical experience and films do look more "alive", so that not even the cold and perfect digital image can ever replace the origins of our dreams.
