Tribute concert to Sakamoto Ryuichi
To pay homage to the late Sakamoto Ryuichi, one of the most complete and eclectic Japanese musicians, also known internationally for the soundtracks of numerous successful films, the Yamada-Zardi duo will perform some of his most iconic songs. From the unspeakable and poignant melodies of Oshima's Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and Bertolucci's The Last Emperor, to more intimate and private compositions, the concert will retrace some of the stages of Sakamoto's career, which in addition to countless soundtracks, for Oshima and Bertolucci he was also an actor.
Hiromi Yamada (Mezzo-soprano)
He graduated from the Tōkyō University of the Arts and moved to Italy. He studied singing at the Verona State Conservatory of Music, graduating with top marks. He wins the Philharmonic Academy Prize and continues his education for a short time at the Moscow State Conservatory. He received the best emerging artist award from the Tokyo International Artists Association. He is dedicated to “Project between Music and Japan” presenting contemporary compositions created by both Japanese and foreigners. Recently, in 2021 he presented the first world edition of the 12 melodies of the Divine Comedy at the Alighieri Theater in Ravenna, and in 2022 he presented the concert dedicated to the music composed by the Faenza missionary Don Cimatti at the Ridotto of the Masini Theater in Faenza.
Denis Zardi (Pianist)
After completing his piano studies at the "Boito" Conservatory in Parma, he perfected his skills at the "Incontri col Maestro" International Academy in Imola and at the European Conservatory in Rotterdam. Winner of numerous prizes in national and international competitions, he carries out his artistic activity dividing himself between soloism and chamber music. At the same time he passionately dedicated himself to the study of composition, graduating with top marks from the "Martini" Conservatory in Bologna. Among his compositions are some piano works, chamber music pieces, film soundtracks, sacred music. He teaches piano at the "Sarti" music school in Faenza, at the "Masini" Institute in Forlì "and at the "Franci" Higher Institute of Musical Studies in Siena.
