For the 22nd edition of the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest, the collaboration with CineCriticaWeb and the Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani (SNCCI) is renewed. It confirmed its support and patronage for the fourth consecutive year.
Founded in 1971, the Syndicate enhances the cultural function of film criticism, supporting freedom of expression and the integrity of cinematographic works. With the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Syndicate edits the publication of the quarterly magazine Cinecritica and the related webzine CineCriticaWeb; moreover, thanks to the collaboration with the Venice Biennale, it organises the International Film Critics' Week, which takes place during the Venice Film Festival.
SNCCI promotes the most prestigious initiatives linking film criticism and film festivals, which have become a parallel circuit for the screening of films that would otherwise disappear. It gives them visibility and an audience, thus disseminating languages that are different from each other but united by a single mapping: cinema.
A professional jury composed of directors, screenwriters, critics and journalists assigns the Critics' Prize to one of the feature films presented in the competition.
