The selection of the XXII Edition of the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest ended with 921 works from 62 countries, 5 of which will participate in the International Feature Film Competition! A great success that deserves a grand opening celebration.
The Opening night, established in 2017 and dedicated to the master David Lynch, has become an unmissable event. Since 2023 we have decided to turn it into a full-fledged opening celebration.
The entire day of Tuesday, October 15 will feature extraordinary events!
We start the day at 10 a.m. with a screening reserved for Ravenna schools: "THE ANIMAL KINGDOM - THE ANIMAL KINGDOM", a film directed by Thomas Cailley.
Join us in the afternoon, starting at 2 p.m. for a screening of Robert Altman's "THE LONG GOODBYE", chosen by the Cineclub Deserto Rosso, established in 2024 to celebrate Start Cinema's 40th anniversary, made up of college students, cinephiles, film buffs and lovers of artistic and cultural events. Don't miss your chance to experience this cinematic experience with us!
From 3:30 p.m. discover the magic of the Tea Ceremony with Japanese October. This enchanting ritual combines multiple traditional Japanese arts, using pottery, lacquer, bamboo and metal tools made by skilled artisans. Each element is the result of careful artistic research, and each movement has a specific purpose, making the experience authentic and fascinating. Get ready for an extraordinary journey into the heart of Japanese culture!
Join us from 6.30 p.m. for an unmissable event where cinema and food come together in a unique experience! Niccolò Califano, along with writer Matteo Cavezzali, will reveal the genesis of his monologue “Eat Everything!” And, to make the experience even more special, there will be a delicious final tasting! You can't miss it!
Finally, at 9 p.m. we will have the opportunity to attend an extraordinary performance: the screening of the film HÄXAN, a silent film masterpiece from 1922, whose soundtrack was created by the students of the "Giuseppe Verdi" State Conservatory of Ravenna, who will set to music a work by Benjamin Christensen.
