The art of "Cha no yu" combines multiple traditional Japanese arts, using ceramic, lacquer, bamboo and metal tools made by expert craftsmen. Each element and each gesture associated with a meaning makes the experience authentic and fascinating.
The master, the person who holds the ceremony, chooses the objects with great care according to the season, the place, the occasion, and welcomes the guests with the utmost respect, a fundamental element of the ritual. After drinking tea, the guests also observe the objects used and appreciate their beauty.
The tea, sweets and cups, in the Kasama yaki style, were provided by the province of Ibaraki, which is twinned with Emilia-Romagna and is taking part in the Japanese October for the first time. We hope that this gesture of friendship will make the Tea Ceremony experience even more enjoyable and meaningful.
