Friday 18 October, 9 p.m.
During this evening, created on the occasion of David Lynch's arrival in Ravenna in 2017, the festival will award the Medal for Valour, created by mosaic artist Dusciana Bravura, to directors and filmmakers who, with their works, have significantly contributed to narrative research and experimentation, delving into new and original paths. Our event, with a view to paying tribute to Italian genre cinema, has already awarded cult directors such as Liliana Cavani, Manetti Bros and Roberto De Feo.
On the occasion of the XXII edition of the RNFF, the Medal for Valour will be awarded to Federico Zampaglione, Italian singer-songwriter, director and screenwriter, frontman of Tiromancino, whose sensational "Shadow" will be presented, a homage film to the Italian horror genre of the 1970s and 1980s with quotations from filmmakers such as Mario Brava, Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci and inspired by films of the genre such as Un tranquillo weekend di paura and Non aprite quella porta.
The evening will be an all-round celebration of Zampaglione and his art, full of great surprises.

SHADOW
by Federico Zampaglione
Italy | 2009 | 80'
The film tells the story of David, a young soldier returning from the Iraq War who, gripped by the desire to start his life over and abandon bad memories, embarks on a bicycle journey through central Europe. On his journey he meets a girl, Angeline, and a couple of unscrupulous hunters.
The two young people, while riding their bikes, run into the two hunters; a chase begins that leads the four of them to an area apparently haunted by the ghosts of a group of rebels, burnt alive years earlier in the mines. David and the two hunters are found and kidnapped by a sinister man who conducts experiments on them.
But all is not as it seems.
