As anticipated, RNFF 2024 will be full of news and awards!
Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest has joined the Méliès Federation, which is made up of the largest European film festivals dedicated to fantastic cinema, and will award the MÉLIÈS D'ARGENT PRIZE.
It is time to meet the members of the jury, composed of professionals in the sector, this year formed by Giusi Santoro, producer and editor; Edo Tagliavini, director; Marianna Panebarco, CEO and producer.
Giusi Santoro was born and lives in Bologna. She graduated in Communication Sciences at the University of Bologna and specialised in digital editing. After working for years as a freelancer for production companies in Bologna, Milan and Rome, she founded POPCult in 2007. She has edited over 60 documentaries, in addition to commercials and TV programmes. Her documentaries have won awards at some of the world's major festivals. Among the best known: Strade blu, Il bravo gatto prende i topi (David di Donatello 2006) and Megalopolis (Ilaria Alpi Award 2008). She has also written and produced short fiction films and documentaries broadcast on national and foreign TV, both terrestrial and satellite: RAITRE, RAIDUE, FOX channels. Edo Tagliavini, born in Ferrara in 1971. A national skateboarding champion in the 1990s and a "professional" traveller, he has collaborated with texts and photo shoots on several Clup Guide titles. After his university studies at DAMS in Bologna and some experience in dance theatre, he graduated in directing at the Experimental Centre of Cinematography in 1999. He subsequently made numerous works including commercials, music videos and short films, dedicating himself since 2017 also to practical teaching at the Experimental Centre of Cinematography, where he holds regular directing workshops, as well as being a tutor in directing in the twinning with the Barreira School in Valencia and in courses at CNA Ravenna. He was assistant director in several productions, including AB production for the film Broken by Edmond Budina (Albania), Era Film Production for the film A shelter among the clouds by Robert Budina (Albania). He also collaborated with the company Monica Francia (dance - theatre: Collera incollata al Cuore, Elogio del lento presente) and with theatre director Davide Pedriali (Bar Enàsh, Inferno, Le Beatrici).
Marianna Panebarco, is CEO and producer at Panebarco, a production company for cartoons, motion graphics videos and VFX. She has been working full-time in the audiovisual production sector for 16 years, managing the company and external relations. In the video productions realised by the company, Marianna Panebarco deals with the elaboration of project proposals and intervenes in the first phase of the creative/production process, directing the brief, copy and text drafting. She is co-author and co-producer of the award-winning short film Caramelle (2022) and co-creator of the TV series #NostoppingNora, currently in development. Marianna is also National Vice-President of CNA with responsibility for European Policies, member of the National Executive of CNA Cinema and Audiovisual, with responsibility for Animation, Vice-President of CNA Ravenna and President of Sedar, a service company of the CNA Ravenna system.
