Fourth day of the festival: an exciting day full of appointments not to be missed!
🎬 We start at 10.30 a.m. with the screening of The Visitor, a work by Bruce LaBruce (UK, 2024, 101'). Set in contemporary London, the story follows a refugee who, having landed on the banks of the Thames, introduces himself to a high-ranking family who decide to offer him hospitality.
🎬 At 2 p.m. don't miss Minamata Mandala, a film from the Japanese October section, directed by Hara Kazuo (Japan, 2020, 6h12'). In collaboration with the Association for Cultural Exchanges between Italy and Japan (ASCIG), the documentary recounts the tragic events linked to the largest methylmercury poisoning, caused by the Chisso plants in Minamata, which occurred between 1932 and 1968.
🎬 From 3 p.m. space is given to the Emilia-Romagna showcase section, which presents two interesting works: Un Passatore by Pablo Poletti (Italy, 2022, 15‘), dedicated to the nights spent in the company of Flo and her ferryboat, and Dario Argento Panico by Simone Scafidi (UK, 2023, 98’), an engaging portrait of the master of Italian horror, enriched by interviews with collaborators, family and friends.
🎬 At 6 p.m. it continues with the fourth feature film in competition: The Horse Tail by Justyna Łuczaj-Salej (Poland, 2023, 76'), which explores incestuous relationships and painful secrets in a town at the foot of a cliff, amidst landfills and forests.
📚 At the same time, at 6 p.m. in the Mandiaye N'Diaye Room of the Rasi Theatre, there will be the second literary meeting entitled History, Memory and Mysteries, where writer Eraldo Baldini will present his book Le lunghe ombre fredde (The Long Cold Shadows).
🎖️ Finally, starting at 9 p.m. the day will end on a high note! During the evening, the Medal for Valour will be presented to Federico Zampaglione, Italian singer-songwriter, director and screenwriter, as well as frontman of Tiromancino. It will be a special occasion to present his extraordinary film The Well, shot at the beginning of 2023 between Sambuci (Tivoli) and Rome, and world premiered at the Sitges Film Festival, marking his return to the horror genre.
The evening will be an all-round celebration of Zampaglione and his art, full of great surprises ✨
