Since 2017, the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest has embarked on a journey of transformation, delving into the darkest recesses of cinema, transcending the boundaries of genre, exploring an expanded and absolute mapping of cinematic geography, but, just like the metalupo, still maintaining its nature, linked to darkness.
As the festival's founder and artistic director, Franco Calandrini, stated: “Two months before the start of the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest, the image of the Metalupo that we imagined with the dark blue moon returns, because the night is getting deeper and deeper, the cinema system is collapsing, and outside there is hell, we are seeing it around us, and this time we cannot say that ‘we did not know’.”
