With the arrival of 1161 entries, including feature films and short films, from 74 countries, the selection process for the 23rd edition of the Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest has come to an end.
Given the high quality of the entries, the selection process was very difficult, but also very rewarding.
There will be nine films in the Feature Film Competition, four of which will be in the newly created National Competition and five in the International Competition.
But in addition to the feature film competitions, which represent the backbone around which everything else develops, one of the most eagerly awaited events is undoubtedly the International Short Film Competition, which will present, depending on their length, no fewer than 8 and no more than 12 short films.
The same applies to the newly established European Short Film Competition. The annexation of our festival to the prestigious European Federation of Fantastic Film Festivals has allowed us to establish a new award: the Melies d'Argento.
