Mr. Ham decides to have his heart removed in order to be relieved of his complicated feelings. The doctor assures him that this is no longer a problem at all in this day and age. However, Ham keeps his heart for a while after the removal in order to perhaps understand it better after all.
Tako Tsubo is an animated, surrealistic reflection on dealing with feelings in a meritocracy.
Tako Tsubo, also known as stress cardiomyopathy or broken heart syndrome, is a rare, acute and often serious functional disorder of the heart muscle, similar to a heart attack, and is usually caused by exceptional emotional or physical stress. Eva Pedroza (1982 , Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. She studied at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes in Buenos Aires and at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her works include drawings, ceramics, paintings and animations. They address the paradoxes between subject and object, the contradictory and symbiotic relationships between humans and non-humans, culture and nature. Based on narrative, her works are often influenced by spontaneous processes and the effects of the different media she chooses, such as paper, watercolour, ceramics and firing processes, to bend the unexpected in poetic and dramatic ways.
Fanny Sorgo, born 1993 in Austria, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Vienna and Berlin. She studied Scenic Writing and Narrative Film at the Berlin University of the Arts, successfully completing both courses in 2018. As a playwright and performer, she has been invited to numerous theatre festivals across Europe in recent years and has written for, among others, the Berlin Opera. Since 2014, Fanny Sorgo has been represented by the Berlin publishing house Felix Bloch Erben. In 2020, she discovered her interest in music and began writing and composing songs in a self-taught manner. In 2023, he released his first singles. The animated film "Tako Tsubo" (2024) is her directorial debut in collaboration with Argentinian artist Eva Pedroza. Fanny Sorgo regularly presents her work in performance readings and concerts. |
