Ended in 1915, the masterpiece directed by Nino Oxilia came out in theaters only in 1917, due to mysterious disputes within the Cines: almost three years of waiting to deliver to the world a film that is a total masterpiece. Pictorial quotations, literary references, architectural and scenographic suggestions, all embellished by the original sound of Maestro Pietro Mascagni, were founded on the movie. But Rapsodia is also a film that lives with its own light thanks to the poetic sensitivity of Nino Oxilia and to the extraordinary interpretive performance of Lyda Borelli, able to investigate the deep human soul.
