Devastated with grief after the mysterious disappearance of her magician lover, Louise is sent to a psychiatric asylum. Nine months later, she gives birth to Angel, a baby boy with an incredible gift: he is invisible. To protect him from the cruelty of the outside world, his mother hides his existence. Angel grows up quite normally until he meets Madeleine, a blind little girl of his age who lives nearby. They quickly fall in love and become inseparable, Madeleine still unaware of Angel’s invisibility. Until one day Madeleine announces something that will turn their lives upside down: she will recover her sight.
Harry Cleven
Harry Cleven was born in 1956 in Belgium. After studying at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, he began his career in 1989 with the short fiction film SIRENE, which won the award for Best Cinematography at the Brussels Film Festival. A year later, Harry tried his skills at feature film: ABRACADABRA, with Thierry Fremont and Clémentine Célarié, which won, amongst other, the Public's Choice and Best Screenplay awards at the San Sebastian Film Festival. He then directed WHY GET MARRIED THE DAY THE WORLD ENDS, for which Pascal Gregory was awarded Best Actor in Prague and Seoul. The film also received awards in Porto, Cabourg and New-York. His next film, TROUBLE, with Benoît Magimel and Natacha Reginer, won the Grand Prix at the Gérardmer Film Festival, the Silver Méliès at Sitgès, and other awards in Montréal and Vancouver. Harry Cleven also made several successful TV films such as LES DIABLESSES (2006) with Bernadette Lafont, LES HÉRITIÈRES with Jacques Weber and Amira Casar, and LA FILLE DE L'AUTRE with Anne Parillaud. He is also a talented scenarist. Before co-writing THROUGH LOVE and MON ANGE, he was screenplay advisor on films like TINTIN by Steven Spielberg and MISTER NOBODY by Jaco Van Dormael. He is an actor as well, starring in films by prestigious directors such as Zulawski, Godard and Van Dormael, who influenced him with a quality he thinks they have in common: freedom.
