"THE ART OF SILENCE"
David Lynch meets the students in Ravenna
The XVth edition of Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest – directed by Franco Calandrini for Start Cinema, in partnership with Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Ravenna, with support of Emilia Romagna Film Commission, with patronage of Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali – it ended with an important educational project, with the presence of an exceptional guest.
The Special Project "The Art of Silence" - A tribute to David Lynch, in collaboration with David Lynch Foundation and Ravenna Festival, this morning – Monday the 6th November 2017 – has transformed Liceo Scientifico A. Oriani of Ravenna in an extraordinary place of meeting between students and the great filmmaker and American artist David Lynch. During his trip to Italy, Lynch decided to stop in Ravenna, choosing this location not to appear in the spotlight but to carry on and deepen the work of his foundation with the younger audience. In the meeting with the kids he talked about his dearest issues, such as creativity and art.
The three-year special development project “The art of silence – A tribute to David Lynch” began on the opening night of RNFF 2016. An unpublished documentary was screened, David Lynch Documentary, which tells how during the 2007-2009 the American director has embarked on a tour of 16 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America to talk about Meditation, Creativity and Peace. On this occasion the Italian head of David Lynch Foundation, Dr. Fatima Franco presented the Foundation’s work and began with the students of Liceo Scientifico A. Oriani an experimental project about Creativity and Art.
